Welcome to Catbutterfly.
This blog is inspired by a tattoo I once saw on a woman on the CTA #8 bus, traveling south. It was over a year ago, during a blistery fall day. A large woman was sitting diagonally across from me. She adorned a giant, colored butterfly tattoo on her arm WITH THE FACE OF A CAT. I saw God in that face.
I was mesmerized. It was then I realized that this was the most fantastic tattoo I had ever seen. I would never think to put a cat FACE on a butterfly BODY.
I have spoken of the cat-butterfly many times since we locked eyes that fateful day. One might say I’m “obsessed.” Obsession, I say, is really intense love. And there’s far too little love in this world.
Without further ado, I present CATBUTTERFLY - heads of animals that aren’t butterflies on butterfly bodies.
